Le Jardin De L’Amour – we Amour!
As one of the finale events to Fashion Focus Chicago 2009, designer Borris Powell produced one of the most creative and uniquely refreshing shows I’ve ever seen – Le Jardin De L’Amour (Garden of love). Powell is truly a master of creating a glamourous and flattering silhouette. The ambiance was brilliant – that of a lovely french garden scene, focused lighting with seated models draped in luxurious satin dresses as a static fixture to the runway.

This Spring/Summer 2010 runway collection made use of the ever popular rosette from the cocktail length monotone looks to the swimwear line and finally as a finale evening wear line of which even Valentino would be jealous.
Inspired by the masterful shapes of Christian Dior, Powell’s trademark silhouettes have the comforting familiarity of his early authentic family memories mixed with a chic nod to high-end city life.

Le Jardin de L'Amour - BorrisPowell.com
2009 Fashion Focus Chicago will be here before we know it. Coming this October, be on the lookout for shows such as GenArt’s Fresh Faces, Macy’s and it’s Chicago Incubator designers as well as Spring 2010 shows by a few of Chicago’s most talented local designers.
Today we’re going to start with one show that is sure to be a crowd favorite…Le Jardin de L’Amour.
Borris Powell’s Le Jardin de L’Amour is on our top shows to watch list. His talent for creating a killer silhouette in evening and outerwear that make women feel beautiful is what put him on the map – our prediction is that this show is keeping him there. And if that weren’t enough to peak your curiosity, this premier show is rumored to be making good use of the very fashion forward must have detail – the rosette.

Studio-808, Inc. is the brainchild of Erin Creaney, a PR executive with a near-athletic enthusiasm for emerging designers. Finding herself searching the city for great designers with new and different looks, she knew a larger operation was in order. What's more, she felt the world needed to know about the fashion percolating in the Windy City. Thus was born Studio-808.com.
