back to basics
What is a Recessionista?
Like me, I’m sure you haven’t been able to escape the headlines and breaking news on what’s happening with our current economy.
Lately, I’ve been trying to focus on something a little more positive than how much my 401K is dropping. That’s when I came across the term recessionista. What is a recessionista you ask? Well, I guess it depends on you…here’s my take on the former “fashionista” mentality during this fiscally challening time.
When it comes to fashion – I started thinking about how important it is to remember the basics. These are the pieces that you invest in to last through trends, are made well and can be paired with just about anything to refresh your look. A favorite of mine is this SERPICO silk top. It is classic and chic, a very appropriate look for a fashionista…
We all know looking good equals feeling good so why not start with the basics and get creative with a bold belt, printed scarf or bright clutch.
And don’t forget that just because the market is gloomy, your style doesn’t have to be! Are you a recessionista?? What are some of your go to basics?

Studio-808, Inc. is the brainchild of Erin Creaney, a PR executive with a near-athletic enthusiasm for emerging designers. Finding herself searching the city for great designers with new and different looks, she knew a larger operation was in order. What's more, she felt the world needed to know about the fashion percolating in the Windy City. Thus was born Studio-808.com.
