Borris Powell Recap

By: Evelyn

On Wednesday Borris Powell debuted his Spring 2011 collection at the Drake with a runway show titled “The Life of Two Fairies,” and it was magical!

The Drake created the perfect garden setting with a fountain and huge floral arrangement around which the models walked. It really felt like you were in a whimsical fairy land. The collection included a variety of short and long dresses and coats. While some pieces, including the coats, were very structured, majority of the collection was flowy and fanciful. The color pallet included green, yellow, pink, and a variety of floral prints.

The one thing we expect most from Powell is his attention to detail. No detail was spared in presenting this collection. From the setting to the pointy ears the models wore, this collection could not have been more complete or better presented. It was simply fantastic!

Timeless Fur

By: Evelyn

Whether it is real or faux fur the trend this fall has made its way into every retail store imaginable.  Zac Posen, Chanel, Michael Kors, and many more big designer names are sporting the look down the runway.  Wear the fall trend as a jacket, vest, handbags, and boots to keep up with the trend. The great thing about wearing fur or faux fur this season is that it comes in great warm jackets, chic vests, got to have hand bags, and those awesome knee high boots that you have been eyeing!  Choose from many natural shades of browns, blacks, greys and much more to match your complexion.

One thing to remember about wearing faux fur…be careful you don’t throw a rug on! Faux fur can look and even feel like a rug so when shopping do not forget that it should not only keep you warm but feel incredible! You can wear a great faux fur vest out to dinner or match it with a great dress and killer heels!

Studio-808, Inc. is the brainchild of Erin Creaney, a PR executive with a near-athletic enthusiasm for emerging designers. Finding herself searching the city for great designers with new and different looks, she knew a larger operation was in order. What's more, she felt the world needed to know about the fashion percolating in the Windy City. Thus was born Studio-808.com.
